Ever had a meal and then shortly after felt like you had not eaten?  Did you go back for more or did you just ignore the feeling?  The same thing applies to our lives when we are searching for things to fill a void.  These things can be going to the mall and buying clothes, playing video games, or even sleeping.  Many other things are tried by teens who are trying to fill a void that all, admitting or not, have felt at one point or another. I discovered a huge void in my life a the age of 13.  I began to try and fill this hole with whatever I could, no matter the cost.  I did things that got me in trouble, then I did things that had lasting affects on me.

During this time that I was searching, I did not realize that the answer was right there with me and that all I had to do was to partake of it and accept this for its purpose.  This filling feeling happened in July of 1998 when I was in a small student setting and we were closing our time together with a prayer.  As our leader closed, she asked if there was anyone who felt that they were missing something and felt that GOD had spoken to them through his word that night , then please hang around.  After everyone left I began to share this void in my life and that I really felt GOD speaking to me but was unsure what I should do next.  My youth leader asked me had I ever accepted Christ as my personal Lord and Savior.  I sat there for a second and immediately responded "no" I had not but I believe that I need Jesus in my life because I believed he died for my sins so I could be forgiven and have eternal life.  At this point we prayed a prayer for me to accept salvation.  Even after this I felt different but was unsure why.  As the days past I prayed and read GOD's word and GOD bgan to show me that his son was the bread of life.  Jesus was what I was searching for.  GOD's word states in John 6: 51-58 , "I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world."  WOW!  I had my youth leader explain this to me and after she explained it and after I spent time studying and praying to GOD for what this scripture meant I found out that Jesus is all I need.  Jesus can fill everything that is empty and fill it more abundantly.

As you read these scriptures, pray for GOD to show you where you have voids and ask him to fill those with his son, Jesus.  Take this scripture and know that Jesus, in more words than can be described, is our everything and is our only thing that we need.  Jesus spent his life sharing GOD's word, living a holy life and dying for our sins so we can be forgiven, be filled and live eternally with our creator, GOD.  If you have any questions or need prayer please feel free to contact me anytime.
